Hello there– I'm Emily!
I'm a North Carolina native who now calls Durham, NC, home. I'm a graduate student in Wake Forest, NC, studying marriage and family therapy. I enjoy digging into people's stories, and after working in college ministry for a year at the Savannah College for Art and Design, I developed my skill for photography. Combined with my love of storytelling, photography has become a channel where I creatively connect with people and capture moments that bring joy. I love God, NC mountains, sunsets, pizza, a good cup of coffee, quoting Parks and Rec or Gilmore Girls, or hanging out with my friends!

Before our shoot even begins, we'll begin getting to know each other (it's a little like dating, ha!), answering your questions and gaining insights about each other's stories. This helps me understand my clients well and provide the best tailored experience possible before you're even in front of the camera.

Session Time: Candid, Unposed, Collaborative
I find that the best photos are in-the-moment photos capturing emotion or conversation. Most photos will involve you doing an action or holding a conversation, so get ready to get a little silly, tell a few jokes, share stories, and so much more. Our time together will also be collaborative, so if you have any must-have shots, combinations of people, locations, etc. you would like to include in your photos, let's do it!
